Stress Test Results Confirm Capital Strength of America’s Largest Banks

“Forum members have once again proven they are strong, resilient, and can continue to support customers and communities even in the face of a significant economic downturn.”

Washington D.C. – Financial Services Forum President and CEO Kevin Fromer issued the following statement today in response to the Federal Reserve Board’s 2025 stress test results:

“Today’s results confirm the strong capital positions of the largest U.S. banks.

“For over ten years, the largest banks in the nation have consistently demonstrated that their capital levels far surpass the hypothetical losses projected by the Federal Reserve. Forum members have once again proven they are strong, resilient, and can continue to support customers and communities even in the face of a significant economic downturn.

“We look forward to the Federal Reserve’s review of capital requirements to help ensure banks can support a strong American economy while maintaining safety and soundness. Further, we appreciate that the Federal Reserve has committed to establish the same transparency and public accountability in the stress tests that are provided for all other capital requirements.”
