Our impact in Florida starts with direct engagement in local communities.
In 2020 the Citi Foundation committed $15 million to support Community Development Financial Institutions serving small businesses owned by people of color and low- and moderate-income individuals and communities, including CDFIs that serve businesses or individuals in Duval county. The commitment will provide CDFIs unrestricted grants of up to $500,000 to support their work to assist communities and small businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Read More
In 2021, Goldman Sachs announced their Market Madness: HBCU Possibilities program, which is a five-year, $25 million commitment to seven Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Florida A&M University is one of the seven HBCUs selected to participate in the program. For four months, 125 first- and second-year students from the seven HBCUs will receive training and learn finance skills. At the end of the program, students will present a case study to senior leaders at Goldman Sachs and compete for prize donations for their institutions. Read More
