Our impact in Pennsylvania starts with direct engagement in local communities.
As part of its City Accelerator initiative, Citi Foundation provided a grant that helped the city of Philadelphia test the use of innovative marketing tactics to ensure low-income seniors were signing up for subsidies offering a 25 percent reduction in their water bills. As a result, participation rates in the program improved by 178 percent, and hundreds of Philadelphia’s seniors now receive a discount. Read more
BNY Mellon in 2020 committed $5 million to the Community College of Allegheny County to establish the BNY Mellon Early College in High School Program. This program will offer career pathways in business, finance, information technology & digital support to 400 under-represented students in partnership with local school districts. Through a rigorous dual-enrollment course, the program will provide an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma as well as specialized certification(s), or an associate and/or bachelor’s degree in a specified discipline in 4-6 six years.
