The bonds finance the construction, development, and installation of two electric arc furnaces and other upgraded equipment at a United States Steel Corporation solid waste disposal facility. Proceeds of the bonds also support the construction of U.S. Steel’s Big River Steel facility, which has been designed to refine and process scrap steel in a sustainable way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
